Help - just starting to panic, I'm visiting Madrid with some friends during the Rugby World Cup in October and just realized we need to find a bar to watch the England (and other) games.

Can anyone suggest somewhere which wouldn't mind entertaining a group of rugby fans?

Cheers,

Jamie

Don't worry, there's plenty of Irish bars that will be showing the world cup! You'll be able to take your pick!! Smiler

Take a look here for a list. Most, if not all, have large screens etc. and have most of the sporting events on.

Edit: I do hate it when people build a webpage that doesn't have a link back to the rest of the site!!! www.in-madrid.com is where the list lives.

Hey Jamie, pretty much any Irish/English pub.

Dear Laidback, in the InMadrid webmasters defense, I must say that the pub list in question is not meant to be looked at out of its frames but should intead be properly viewed via the "irish pubs" link at http://www.in-madrid.com/entertain (the InMadrid entertainment section).

WANKER!!! Red Face Wink :jeje:

Sorry, didn't realise who the webmaster was!! Big Grin

And who uses frames these days, anyway???

Such fuss, as I said before we (The Irish Rover) will be showing some of the games, as they are on early we won't show all of them. Finnegans is a good bet as they specialize in Rugby, Kitty O'Sheas should have them on too and there is a Rugby bar in San Sebastian de los Reyes (I'll post the address this weekend) called 'Haka' and they will almost certainly have the games. Check our website for the times and the phone nos of the other bars are in the aforementioned In Madrid

Thanks for all the replies to my note before about Bars to watch the World Cup in. Does anyone know if any of the bars will be open for the early games e.g 8.30am?

Cheers,

Hey Nige, thanks for that link, quite a detailed program they have there.

Jamie, I am pretty sure most Irish/English pubs will open for the games but since we now know for sure that Finnegans does, you may want to go there to watch the matches.

Finnegans is pretty well located --> HERE and easy to get to.
