by no strings attached I mean no proselytizing (thanks to google for finding the correct spelling on that one

)
For many of us (and Chris and I for many years) attending a church service was part and parcel of Christmas and Easter (like most it was the only time we went). What I didn't like about some of the services I attended was the emphasis on outreach (proselytizing). I think its pretty clear if you attend what it's all about.
We did a Curryaoke (again thanks to google for correct spelling of karaoke)night and it was a blast and had about 200 people show up and had great time.
Church (in my opinion) consists of 3 parts, music (worship) the sermon and the people, and its very rare (none that I've been in) to get all three right. Most modern (seeker sensitive to use the American terminology) Church's have great music but boring sermons. We attended one place (once) were the sermon was sooo bad our friends apologized for it (it was bapist so what do you expect!) Mountain view is unusual that all three are great. Richard, bless his heart, keeps the message to 30mins and uses multimedia to keep me awake
My fondest Christmas service memory was attending a Christmas eve service in an old small anglican church in Germany, the acoustics made the choir of 20 sound like 200. Its was beautiful. Sang all the hymns I grew up with, while I wouldn't want to attend every week I really enjoyed the Christmas service.
Anyways like I said if a Christmas service is part of your tradition that your more than welcome to attend brunch is free.
