A new local ordinance was just passed today that requires all bars/clubs/pubs/discos/restaurants/cafs/etc... that may have "Terrazas" ("sidewalk dining/drinking terraces") to shut them down by 2am. Basically, if they have music playing outdoors on the terrace, they need to end the party at that time (2am).
Is this ordinance still in affect? I can't believe it! If you're in or around an area like Sol, you can't possibly expect the street to be quiet at 2am. I think this is putting a hinder on the entire nighttime culture, and will be very ineffective in reducing noise...what do you think, Jer, since you live right there in Plaza Mayor?
Hi Mindy, the new ordinance only requires them to stop the outdoor music, inside things can go on all night (and they do)
I for one am glad that this ordinance was passed since I live above one big "Terraza" and althought the bars do not have music here the street musicians (many of which are aweful) also must obey the ordinance.
Gotta work and during the week here it can be sleepless if they go to far and play till 5am.
Yeah Q, I think I saw a "bobby" the other day amongst the "tunos"
