I´m a 23-year-old Englishman who arrived in Madrid on Sunday night, with the grand and original intention of teaching English for a couple of years. Currently missing such home comforts as talking to people without adopting the international, slack-jawed expression of an idiot. My Spanish isn´t up to scratch yet, you see.
So, anyone who would like to meet somebody new, give vital pearls of advice, and snigger privately at another´s discomfort, I´d love to go for a drink with you. Age, nationality and gender, not of great importance. Any British people, however, I´d love to hear any advice about getting NIE numbers (bearing in mind that 'take a native-speaker along with you' is a little beyond my means at the moment).
But yeah, anyone for that drink?

Hey Cousin It. I am pretty good about answering questions like how to get a NIE and what not and my spanish is pretty good, so maybe I can help. If you want to stop by my store on Saturday morning between 11-3, I´ll be there and we can chat and I can try to help.
Anybody else from mm, feel free to drop by and say hi. I havent been out much lately since I had my son, Ethan, so would love to catch up with everyone. Plus I havent see Jer since the boda. Hope it was spectacular.
Candy, is your family ok in N.O? We just got back Sunday from Mobile. We were there during Katrina. My sister´s house was flooded but she is ok and the house stuff can all be fixed.
Alright, so anybody interested in meeting Cousin It and myself, this Saturday the 24th.
See ya´ll then.
Jamie
