FYI
I'm a long way from being a head-banger hair-band fan, but I found this convo on AOL and though it deeply insightful.
It's Tommy Lee, from Motley Crue, who just returned from a European tour. Spain was his favorite concert venue! Were any of our mm'ers there? And if so, do they still have hearing loss?

aolmusic [3:19 P.M.]: what's your favorite place to play?
tommyland05 [3:19 P.M.]: Spain, Madrid and Zaragozza were by FAR the craziest crowds in the world!! i think they were louder than the band
tommyland05 [3:20 P.M.]: and we're daaaaaaaaamn loud!!!!

I still have a drum stick that Tommy Lee threw from his upside down drum kit and I caught at a live Motley Crew show in the late 80's at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Hollywood, Florida.

Anyway, I still see many people in Madrid who dress in a variety of older musical styles (stuck in the 80's) including many headbangers as well as my favorite the happy goths, who dress in the dark cloths and make-up, but who are usually younger girls who seem to be giggling and laughing every time I've seen them.
Style over substance I guess.

yes.. the legendary flamenco singer Cameron de las Islas wore a truly legend-worthy mullet. I wonder what the Spanish word is for it?
