Hello, I know this thread is pretty outdated, but I just wanted to say that back in 2003 I had a wonderful experience with David Harris (umm... wait, that sounded wrong... ) But, I meant that he was very helpful and efficient and set me up with Sanitas and gave me loads of information. Now, as I won't have legit access to the Spanish national health insurance until I get my work visa, I am planning on using David Harris and Sanitas again. If anyone out there wants private insurance and a hassle-free way of getting it, work with David!

His cell number is 609 522 300 (at least when I last called him).
Since I started this thread, I have had a lot more experience with Sanitas (unfortunately... lots of mishaps, bichos, close calls, kid issues, etc.). I'm still quite pleased with the service and we have certainly gotten our money's worth. I hope everyone else's premiums don't rise because of us!
I have learned to go straight to specialists, when in the US I would have gone to a regular doctor. So when I have a sore throat that won't go away, I go to the otorrinolarigóloga. If my son hurts his foot, it's off to the traumatólogo. Stomach pains, gastro doctor. Etc., etc.
The only problem is that I haven't yet found a good everyday doctor who I can go to when I have a minor issue. I usually just throw myself on the mercy of the pharmacist, but that doesn't always work. Does anyone have a doctor and/or pediatrician in the centro that they like?
