I notice that Spanish railways organise a Medieval theme journey to Sigüenza. a place about 130 kms north east of Madrid.
Trains leave from Chamartin station at 10.00 and return or leave Sigüenza at 19.40
All for Euros 21 including some 'sweets'
Anyone tried this excursion?

Not done this trip, but Sigüenza is beautiful, historic and well worth seeing.

thanks Nige, looks nice.

if i had a suspicious mind i would say it is an april fools gag die laughing to take your money and run since that is a very low price.

i just called renfe (902 24 02 02) and they initially said i could not reserve more than 15 days in advance for this trip.

i told them that their website says i can reserve up to 2 months ahead and that a friend of mine (thanks Nava) has already reserved. i was asked to wait and after 5 minutes of being on hold, the woman took my reservation.

so, ena an i are in for april 1st! big grin

see any and all of you there.

since the trian leaves at 10am from chamartín, we can make an outing out of it and anyone who wants to should meet up at say 9:15am for a quick bfast(?).

anyone more farmiliar than me with the station please recommend a café to meet at.

should be fun day smiler

saludos,
jer...

Turns out we're going to have to miss this one, but it sounds really cool so we'll do it in the future and hopefully some folks will be able to join us. Look forward to the reviews. Enjoy!
