"the man!"

edel, check out the sites that "Santiago" listed above. i have yet to get my spanish license (mostly due to laziness) but have seen offers in madrid for autoescuelas as low as 120 (+ test fees). i also recall memeber Chica mentioning a very inexpensive one on another thread that is up near tetun in madrid. i pass by the "autoescuela opera" most days as it is right near my apt. and always see a course offer for 150. as for doing it in almera, not sure about what it would cost there but should be competitive with madrid prices. all in all, i think it is just a question of investigating the many driving schools and choosing one. i did a search at google for "autoescuelas almera" as i assume you want to do it there and came up with THIS PAGE. i came up with a ton of the best results via www.paginasamarillas.es . click HERE FOR THE RESULTS. i think this (the paginas amarillas.es) is your best bet this is nothing you can't do on your own so best of luck in your search. saludos, jer...

I got my Spanish license just over a year ago, in Alcal de Henares (Madrid).
When I was shopping around for a driving school, I came to realize that these super-cheap courses aren't always what they seem: 150 Euros might be the initial (sign-up) cost, but then you've got to add on a couple hundred euros for test fees, PLUS 25-euros or more per 45-minute driving class (and most people take a LOT of classes). If you're lucky, a few classes may be included in the sign-up fee (be sure to ask), but later you may find yourself at the mercy of your driving instructor, who decides how many classes you "need", and when you're "ready to test". And, if you fail your exams more than TWO times (written or driving), you've got to pay the test fees AGAIN... and after the second failed driving exam you'll be required to do MORE driving classes (paying, of course).
I ended up paying just under 600 euros, I think, for the whole course, including driving lessons and test fees... and I "only" took 8 lessons, and passed both the written & driving exams on the first try. I admit I didn't go with the cheapest-possible course offered (I went for convenience - choosing the school right next to my house), but on the other hand, I felt they did a good job and didn't try to "extend" my course to generate more fees.
Then again - everything I'm telling you is true for Madrid. Perhaps things are less expensive where you are...?
Good luck,
Kristin
