Hey gang, just got back from meeting clients at the airport after their trip around Spain. They had rented a big Mercedes and ended up exchanging it for a Chrysler Neon after they found that many of the garages they came across could not take the Monstro Mercedes
They (the clients) asked me why the garages in Spain are so small... what could I say... "the cars are small" (great answer no? ).
My introduction to "Ugly Tourist 101" was in a car rental office in Luxembourg. A retired couple from our "largest southern state" were complaining about the size of the cars offered. The woman droned on and on that back in ## they drove a Cadillac and why couldn't they rent a car like that, etc., etc.
After a while, one of my fellow travelers motioned for her to walk outside at the hustle and bustle on the street. He politely said,
"Lady, even if you were able to rent a car that big here, how would you get it down these narrow streets or even manage to park it?"
I guess she got the point and stopped complaining.....well, for about 3 minutes...glad she wasn't part of my trip
