A friend at work is planning on going to Sevilla in the spring, and has been trying to figure out the
Sevilla bus system website.
We agreed the site could be improved. For example, while there is a "Como ir a..." component, the listing is mostly barrios and plazas, only a few of which (like Plaza Nueva) are recognizable by non-residents. Conspicuously missing from the list is "Estacin Santa Justa", the train station. So, there is no answer to the question
"How do I get from the train station to the touristic center of town?"
While you can look at individual sections of a city map marked with the bus lines, you cannot see the entire map. It seems that the maps had been (easily zoomable) Adobe Acrobat files, but converted to .gif images and put on the website.
Therefore, in the quest of helping my friend for the trip, we spent our lunchtime today copying the most central locations of the map and pasting them together into a file. From top left to lower right, the approximate boundaries are Estacin Santa Justa, Virgen del Roco, Estacin de Autobuses, and Feria grounds.
It's a pretty large .jpg file, both in memory (911K) and in size (1900 x 1900 pixels...six 8.5" x 11" pages). Being copied from .gif files, it won't shrink/enlarge well, and the boundaries of each section on the website weren't cut all that well (some of the sections don't line up perfectly). But, in the words of my friend, "it sure beats what is available on the website or elsewhere on the web".
My friend is going to print the file and bring it on his trip. Unless anyone can see a distinct legal reason why I shouldn't, I'd be happy to distribute it to anyone else who needs it. And, if anyone knows of a good place they can post it for general use, all the better!

PS
Q: How DO you get from the train station to the touristic center of town?
A: From the front of train station, walk a few blocks to Luis Montoto and catch Bus 21 to Plaza Nueva.
