I am picking up a car in Salamanca but returning it in Madrid, they give you a huge listof places to return, would the airport be the easiest? I will return the car on Tues and then spend 3 more days in Madrid but from what I read on this board I won't want/need a car so best to get rid of it. I am not sure where I will stay on last 3 days. Hey Peg, I just got back from vacation (yes, even we who live in the paradis that is Madrid need to get away from time to time) and you must be already in Spain since it is July 5th. Hope you had an amazing time and in case you read this from here, LOSE THE CAR ASAP!!! Lately Madrid is very congested and the widespread street construction makes driving unbearable. I do not know where on your list would be best but the airport is an option and you can easily take the Metro back into the city from the Domestic Terminal at Barajas Airport.
