How does one get tickets in advance for the train in Spain. I know about the RENFE web site, which has the AVE train I need between Madrid and Sevilla, but we want to take the Trenhotel trains between Sevilla and Barcelona, and then Barcelona and Madrid.

If anyone knows how I can get this done in advance from the USA, please let me know.

hi maback, welcome to the board.

unfortunately, renfe's "tiknet" service (online ticket purchasing) does not allow for buying "trenhotel" tickets Frowner , only normal tickets.

howeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever...

there is a renfe agent in u.s.a. that you can try...

"rail europe group"
web: www.raileurope.com
phones: 1-800-438-7245 / 1-877-456-rail
e-mail: service@raileurope.com

they have tons of different products but maybe if you call them they can tell you if your trenhotel purchase will be possible.

since you want to take 2 trenhotels, you may want to consider the flexipass at www.raileurope.com/us/rail/passes/spain_flexipass.htm . see also "how it works" at http://www.raileurope.com/us/common/how_pass_works.htm for conditions and comments on overnight travel (the "Seat Reservations and Overnight Travel" section).

PLEASE let us know what they say and how it works out, this is an interesting topic.

saludos,
jer...

Thanks jer for the info. I was searching the net, and found someone that helped me. Their web site is http://www.alleuroperail.com/overnight_list.php (Hope you don't mind me posting the URL)

Here is their address and phone number:

ALL EUROPE RAIL

1675 NW 41ST ST
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33309 USA
Tel: (954) 351-0234
Fax: (954) 252-2350

They were very helpful, and quick. I already have a FEDEX tracking number from them for the tickets.

They also did a comparison of the Rail pass, and individual tickets, without me even asking. It ended up that the individual tickets was the way to go for us, because all the trains we are travelling are "premium" trains. Smiler

Again, thank you for your reply.
