I agreed to take a class in the waaaaaay south of Madrid, halfway to Toledo in a place called Ciempozuelos. (Yes, I'm getting paid really well for it.)
But I don't know how to get there, and the company who is sending me there is dragging its feet about helping me with this - which doesn't make me want to work for them - and I was wondering if anyone knew which Cercanias line, whether to take it from Atocha only or it's also possibly from Recoletos, and approximately how long it takes.
I looked at the Renfe website, but I was wondering if had any personal experience. Else I may have to tell the company to get itself organized for its teachers before it sends them off to BFE.
Thanks,
Tanya

I finally got some directions, albeit sketchy, but I'll try once I'm in Ciempozuelos.
My new question, which seems like a stupid one...but here goes. When I go to get the abono mensual for Zona B3, do I need to go to Atocha Renfe - an actual Cercanias station and purchase from the gate agents in the Cercanias station - or can I get it from any metro window or estanco? It will need to include all zones up to B3.
Thanks!

You have to buy the actual abono card (the orange one) in a tabaco shop (estanco). then you can buy the b3 ticket in any metro station. i am not sure if you can but it at the cercanias, i never tried.
also, you didn't say how often you will be travelling to ciempozuelos. if it is just once a week, you might be better off just buying a ticket each time you go. i taught one year in tres cantos, but only one day a week so it was cheaper for me to just buy the tix each time i went.
good luck

By the way, I got to Berge-Manheim in Ciempozuelos without a problem. It is a heck of a trip, from metro Goya to Sol to Atocha to Line C3 to Ciempozuelos to Bus #1 to a ten minute walk to the offices from the stop. It takes almost two hours to get there and another two back, and the students are how I expected - overrated levels, no imagination, and there only cuz the company says so. Ah, the glamour of English teaching!
By the way, Candela, you did some really incredible work with the classes you gave to me. I complimented the students on their English, and they said, it's all Candy's work.
