hey kronos, thanks.

i also use zeppelin, have for many years but they are better if you are under 26 and/or a student.

yeah, i have known skyscanner for a long time but they did not produce any impressive results on this search and kept wanting to send me via dublin on aer lingus. it would seem that the "Direct only" tab on their search page is broken since i marked it and they still show the million aer lingus flights via dublin, aaaaarrrgggghhhhh!!! nutz

saludos,
jer...

ended up getting my tix direct via delta.com as nobody beat their price (598€/adult and 216 for lynquito).

thanks for all your help, especially mariposita for the advice about calling and asking about the infant ticket instead of ordering it online with ours.

things i learned:

- an infant ticket DOES NOT entitle you to a baggage allowance for the baby. the only thing you are allowed is the stroller which you can bring to the plane doors and then check there. they also allow a carry-on for the baby but not 2 x 23 kilos checked bags like adults are permitted.

- when you book online and are allowed to choose your seats, no matter what flight you look at, the bulkhead seats show as reserved. this is NOT because someone else beat you to them, it is because they are reserved for people with babies and cannot be pre-selected on the web. they are given out to the first passengers to check-in for the flight. for example, i chose seats 23G and H but if we are the first to check-in, they will move us to the bulkhead. needless to say, we plan to be the first to check-in big grin

- the airline will provide (if available, again it depends on when we check-in) a bassinet.

saludos,
jer...

Have a great time jer and family! What date do you actually fly?

I am flying to Dublin on Saturday via Madrid, as it is cheaper than flying direct from here eeker AerLingus always allowed you to choose your seat online free of charge. This time however, they want me to pay for the choice!!!
