Hi all,
a friend from the States is visiting in early June, we'll be renting a car to spend a couple of days around Andaluc�a, then we want to go to Ibiza for a long weekend. It's my first trip there so I have a few questions but could also use any advice you all can offer.
1) Is it worth it taking the rented car (on the ferry) so that you can move around the island or is there enough local transportation to take you where you want to go?
2) We want to stay in a mid to upper price range hotel, probably with pool and close to the beach. Any recommendations?
3) We are both mid 30's and will want to avoid the nordic teenagers getting stoned, but still want to have fun and go out, hit the local discos, bars, restaurants, etc. any recommendations for that?
4) Know any good beaches, nudist beaches, which are the best?

Good idea!, take the car, on this island it is worth while being mobile

Unfortunately you will find stoned people in a lot of places, sorry. Good clubs.....Pacha, amnesia, space(for the after parties), privilege. basicly follow the parties, everyday there is a theme party in one of the clubs. Full moon parties in pacha r the best!!! Before going clubbing you could go to Ibiza city, lots of cool bars to start the night! avoid San Antonio!!!! drunk english teenagers not being able 2 control themselves. ( the english consul in ibiza left his post because of the shame he had being the representative for this lot)


4) Know any good beaches, nudist beaches, which are the best?
besides Las Salinas....which is the best beach to stay in the party mood, try driving around the island and you will find hidden beaches with almost nobody there....talk about deluxe!!

p.d. Actually, I have never been to Ibiza and while I am sure it has much beauty inland, the coastal areas will be packed with "undesireables" Mallorca was like that.

Since you are going in early June however, you may be spared from the huge obnoxious crowds of July and August.

LAS SALINAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty much all teh beaches are nude. If you just walk past teh big crowds of people to another partof the beach, it's nude!! I loved it, cause most of the people are youngish (under 40) and not too bad to look at; instead of big fat hairy men in their 70's! Also ask anyone who works at your hotel (I stayed in a hostal, which was NOT bad at all) and they will tell you, or ask a cab driver. I do recomend takinga car, that way you can go to the far off beaches without paying cab fair. I did it in August and paid less than 50e and dropped the car off at the airport.

Most of the people are young and drunk/high... but happy!
